I'll be sending out updates as I get my business built about locations where I can meet clients, consultation structure and pricing, places and times I'll be presenting classes, as well as health and nutrition tips and recipes! My goal will be to send out one email per week so please stay subscribed! I already have a recipe ready for next week that you won't want to miss! Meanwhile, here are two that I found this week that would go great with the "Habits for a Healthier Holiday Season" class last week!

Pineapple Cough Syrup

1 cup pineapple juice (no sugar added)

¼ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

1 tsp ginger powder

1 T raw honey

Dash of salt

Dash of cayenne pepper

Heat juice just enough to melt honey. Combine ingredients well and take 1-2 T as needed for cough.

Elderberry Drink Recipe

1 cup elderberries

8 cups filtered or spring water

1 lemon cut into 4 pieces

1 cinnamon stick

½ tsp whole cloves

1 T ginger pieces

¼ - ½ cup raw honey

Combine the first 6 ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer uncovered for about 4 hours. Strain while pouring into a bowl. Add honey and stir until it is dissolved. Pour into canning jars to refrigerate for several days, or into a freezable container. Consume 1-2 cups daily hot or cold during cold/flu season or at the onset of symptoms.

For syrup reduce amount of water to 4 cups and simmer until reduced by about ½. Take 1 T several times a day.

Recipe adapted from multiple recipes.
